Ben Stein Books

You might know Ben Stein for his role in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off or the host of the game show Win Ben Stein’s Money. You might not know he’s a lawyer, has been a professor and has been active in politics as a speechwriter and lawyer for President Richard Nixon and President Gerald Ford.

The son of an economist, he also holds a degree in economics from Columbia University. And economics is the subject of many of his books.

He’s pro-life and a proponent of Intelligent Design. In fact, he’s been a vocal opponent of Darwinism, stating that ideas based in scientific materialism will inevitably lead to things like genocide.

Where he differs from many on the Right is that he’s in favor of higher taxes for the rich, an idea he’s borrowed from Warren Buffett.

He’s a vocal defender of Israel, even to the point of criticizing those on the right, like Rand Paul who have opposed America’s involvement in the Middle East.

The World According to Ben Stein: Wit, Wisdom & Even More Wit – 2022

A self help book in a time when we could all use it. And at a time when we could also use a few doses of humor, hope and inspiration along the way; in his latest book Ben Stein uses his expertise and life-lived to help you become more financially secure and have a better family life too. At the same time he delves into the many aspects of American culture

The book touches on ways to improve your life, but also our debt to servicemen and women, why you shouldn’t rely on the government for success, what happens when the government gets too big, what’s so great about America and, perhaps most importantly, why these are not the “end times.”

The Capitalist Code

In schools today children are taught that Capitalism is evil. It’s all about greed.

In “The Capitalist Code” Ben Stein challenges those preconceived notions, showcasing not just why Capitalism is a fantastic economic system, but how it can be particularly good for you.

Stein makes capitalism entertaining, detailing how you can benefit from the stock market. He goes into detail on how to make more money, why you need to save before you spend and how investing in great companies is easier than you might think.

In short, the book is as much about making you more prosperous as it is about why the US economy is such an amazing force for propserity.

“Life can be faced by moaning and complaining or it can be faced by study, work, optimism, and faith in the free capitalist system,” says Stein. “Guess which side gets the happier life?”

According to Warren Buffett, if you read this book and put its advice into action, “you will do far better than almost all investors (and I include pension funds, universities and the super-rich) who pay high fees to advisors.”
