Mark Levin Books

Author of eight books, Mark Levin is known for hosting syndicated radio program The Mark Levin Show as well as his TV program Life, Liberty & Levin on Fox News. On both programs he engages in impressive, fast-paced rants about how the Left is ruining America.

Levin’s media career began when he first made appearances on The Rush Limbaugh Show, and then on Sean Hannity’s radio program. From there he landed his own program in 2002 on WABC immediately after Hannity.

Levin takes issue with the term “progressives” as it refers to the radial Left-wing and instead has coined the term “Statists” to describe those who worship the State and who work to grow big government into an increasingly authoritarian power.

Before his career as a pundit, Levin was a Conservative activist throughout his legal career, having joined the Landmark Legal Foundation in 1991 where he put forwarded cases defending the public against big government. He eventually headed-up the foundation’s Center for Civil Rights.

Levin described himself as a never Trumper in 2016 but moved to endorse him once Trump won the Republican nomination. Since then, Levin’s opinions have been decidedly pro-Trump. This same shift can be seen among numerous Conservative thinkers from Ben Shapiro to Ann Coulter who sincerely doubted that Trump would pursue a Conservative agenda once in power.

Levin’s most recent book, “Unfreedom of the Press” takes on a popular enemy of the Conservative movement, the hegemonic Liberal media. He details the utter lack of any form of objective journalism that has resulted from Orwellian group-think and how that has brought about self-censorship, bias-by-omission and passing off opinion as fact. He shows how the government doesn’t need to suppress the media or control it, when the media itself voluntarily acts to support the Democratic party at any cost.

As is his stye, Levin gives plenty of historical context and lead-up to the events of today in the media, documenting the early days of the press in America and its role as a defender of the Constitution. He also details the shift from openly biased media sources, who proclaimed their political stripes for all to see, to the allegedly objective media of the twentieth century.

Another of Levin’s more recent books, “Rediscovering Americanism” he once again delves into the early days of the foundation of America to detail how the Founding Father’s were immediately aware of government overreach and created a system to limit it in order to maintain liberty.

Levin’s book “Liberty and Tyranny: A Conservative Manifesto” is an important read for any Conservative. It sends the foundation for much of his thinking and is his introduction of the term “Statist” as a replacement for the misleading term “progressive.” More importantly, as the title suggests, it’s not just a critique of the Left but a list of actionable ways to defend democracy.
