Politically active from a young age, Charlie Kirk’s rise to fame within the new Right came when, as an 18-year old senior, he penned an article for Breitbart News highlighting the liberal bias in high school textbooks. This led to more media exposure, including on Fox Business, and eventually he was asked to speak at Benedictine University’s Youth Empowerment Day. There, he met politician Bill Montgomery who encouraged Kirk to get more active politically, and the rest, they say, is history.

Kirk then founded Turning Point USA, funded by prominent Republican donors, with an aim to promote Conservative values in high schools and on university campuses, combatting similar Left wing groups. TPUSA funds and organizes conferences and works with outlets like Dennis Prager’s PragerU to help spread Conservative ideas in a place where for decades only socialist and Marxist ideas have been promoted.

TPUSA is well-known for its Professor Watchlist which details Left wing professors who promote radical ideas in their classrooms and who allegedly discriminate against students with Conservative viewpoints.

Part of a new movement on the Right, Charlie Kirk details the reasons for the rise of President Donald Trump and what he stands for.

Kirk highlights the Make America Great Again movement of President Trump as something unique from the old Right or the new radical Left. In fact, the ideas are very much those of an even older Right, and the very principles on which the Conservative movement was founded.

Kirk highlights how President Trump ran on a campaign that opposed not just Big Government, but big everything: from the military-industrial complex, to corporate media, to the tech giants, to the United Nations.

America, he argues, wants a return to a country that puts the rights of the individual first, and with it, family, churches and local businesses. And this, ultimately, is what the American voter saw in President Donald Trump. He argues that the America we see today didn’t happen overnight. It took decades of work by the radical Left to build up government, add layers of control and brainwash the country’s youth into believing it’s the right thing to do – and to participate in it willingly.

Kirk argues that the 2016 Presidential election showcased how America longs for a return to its founding principles. He also believes it won’t take an election or two to get there.

Instead, he sees the swell of support for President Trump as a sign of what Americans really want.

He argues for a long road ahead to take America back and how the country’s youth play a pivotal role in that change.
