Bill O’Reilly Books

Best known for his decades as a commentator on Fox, Bill O’Reilly is a prolific author, specifically focusing on American and 20th Century history.

His television career began in the late 1970s working for both CBS and ABC before hosting the sensationalist Inside Edition from 1989 to 1995. From there he was hired by Fox and from 1996 to 2017 hosted his own show, The O’Reilly Factor.

O’Reilly has referred to himself as a “registered independent,” which isn’t really a thing. Describing his own politics in his book “The O’Reilly Factor” he says that a reader “might be wondering whether I’m conservative, liberal, libertarian, or exactly what … See, I don’t want to fit any of those labels, because I believe that the truth doesn’t have labels. When I see corruption, I try to expose it. When I see exploitation, I try to fight it. That’s my political position.”

O’Reilly has written more than two dozen books with early versions based more on politics and concepts spun-off from his show. Since 2011 he’s focused significantly on his “Killing Series”, co-authored by Martin Dugard, highlighting the deaths of prominent figures in world and political history. Most recently he published “Killing the Mob: The Fight Against Organized Crime in America,” which documents the rise of organized crime in the United States during the 20th Century. He is also set to publish “Killing the Killers: The Secret War Against Terrorists” which takes you from September 11th to America’s global hunt to track down terrorists and defeat them, documenting the actions taken in countries from Afghanistan to Iran, Iraq, Syria and Libya, waging war against Al Qaeda, ISIS and more.

O’Reilly’s “Killing Series” has sold over 18 million books.

In 2019 O’Reilly took a brief pause from his Killing Series to write a book on President Donald Trump. “The United States of Trump,” includes never-before-released interviews and knowledge from 30 years of knowing President Trump to give a balanced overview of the man who changed America and American politics. As the book says, “If you want some insight into the most unlikely political phenomenon of our lifetimes, you’ll get it here.”
