Suicide of the West: How the Rebirth of Tribalism, Populism, Nationalism, and Identity Politics Is Destroying American Democracy

Increasingly Americans are being taught that what makes the country great, is bad. And these ideas are poised to tear down the greatest civilization the world has ever known.

In “Suicide of the West” Jonah Goldberg clearly details the what makes America so unique and how these fundamental ideas are being turned upon themselves.

Primarily, he argues that just a few key ideas form the creation of a society that, unlike all of human history, has bought freedom and prosperity to millions. They are:

That our rights from from God, not from the government

That the government belongs to us, not the other way around.

That the individual is paramount and that we can change the course of our own destiny through our actions.

And finally that the wealth we generate belongs to us

These seemingly simple ideas form the backbone of the Constitution and have allowed Americans to prosper and be free.

But now our society is claiming these foundational principles are evil and that America is a country founded on oppression, class warfare and the privilege of the elite.

In order for America, and the West, to survive, we must rediscover these ideas and value them like we once did. If not, we’re condemning ourselves to the world as it used to be.

Liberal Fascism: The Secret History of the American Left, From Mussolini to the Politics of Meaning

Have you ever noticed how people on the Left always call Right winters Fascists or Nazis? These are terms they have been effective in coopting even though, when you look around you, the policies and actions of those on the Left are increasingly fascist – and always have been.

In Liberal Fascism, Jonah Goldberg details how the original fascists came from the left and how the policies of modern Democrats continue to echo fascist ideas to this day.

Detailing the rise of fascism, Goldberg goes back to detail how Nazis were National Socialists, and how while that has been spun as an attack on the right, it’s important to remember that the Nazis were in favor of free health care, guaranteed jobs, the control of the government in all aspects of life, the confiscation of private wealth, a focus on public education. Oh, and they supported abortion euthanasia and gun control.

Is the modern Left really just a bunch of Nazis? Well no. But there is a lot these two groups share. While Fascism took an inherently evil and genocidal turn in Germany, in America it wore a friendlier face.

Goldberg takes a detailed look at the origins of Fascism and how it looks in America today in this New York TImes Best Seller.

The Tyranny of Clichés: How Liberals Cheat in the War of Ideas

Its often said that the greatest trick the Devil pulled was convincing the world he doesn’t exist. Well, the greatest trick he Left ever pulled was convincing the world it isn’t igeological.

That’s the argument of Jonah Goldberg, and one of he ways the Left has done this and continues to do so is through the use of cliches. Passed off as wisdom in schools, the media and the political sphere, he showcases how turns-of-phrase are used to give the Left the appearance of being objective when in fact they are simply driving at an agenda.
