Peter Schweizer Books

A prolific author, Peter Schweizer is the president of the Government Accountability Institute think tank and is also senior editor-at-large at Breitbart.com.

The GAI was founded in 2012 with Steve Bannon with the sole purpose of investigating the actions of politicians and exposing corruption. Its foundation has been the basis of numerous of Schweizer’s books, although his investigative reporting goes even further back, with earlier exposes in his career taking aim at Disney and the Great Recession. In his book “Architects of Ruin” Schweizer makes the case that the sub-prime mortgage bubble and 2008 recession were the result of left-wing policies and not the creation of an un-regulated banking system.

In 2011 he published “Throw Them All Out” which exposed immense government corruption that has allowed politicians to cheat the financial system and get rich while protecting themselves against prosecution.

Many of his books and research have formed the basis of 60 Minutes exposes on political corruption in America.

But the book that put Schweizer’s name on the map is arguably “Clinton Cash” in which he details how Bill and Hillary Clinton went from carrying millions in debt to amassing over $200 million in debt – and it certainly didn’t all come from speaking engagements. Instead, this book carefully details the Clintons’ friends and business dealings, including many in less-than-reputable countries, like Kazakhstan, Colombia and Haiti. Arriving on the scene in the run-up to the 2016 presidential election, perhaps its biggest revelation is that the Clintons might be compromised politically.

Earlier in his career Schweizer focused several books on the legacy of President Ronald Regan. Of those, his best known is “Victory: The Reagan Administration’s Secret Strategy That Hastened the Collapse of the Soviet Union.” In it he makes the case that President Regan’s massive defence spending actually brought about the demise of the USSR by forcing them to compete, stretching themselves too thin,
